PISD Plans Record Enrollment For 1977-78 School Year

Plano Independent School District prepares for a record 18 000 plus students in 21 schools for the 1977-78 year. Dr H Wayne Hendrick predicts final enrollment above 19 000 with construction on new buildings and staff hires to support growth.

Joint Meet Scheduled On Monday

Plano City Council members Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees and Chamber of Commerce representatives meet Monday evening for the quarterly joint session. Dinner begins at 6 30 p.m. at Mendenhall Elementary School 1313 18th St. Common business will be discussed and the public is invited to attend the after-dinner discussion.

County to Examine Precinct Changes

Registration Deadline Approaches for PISD Bond Election

The last day to register to vote for the October 1 PISD bond issue is this Wednesday. State law requires registration 30 days before an election. eligible Plano ISD residents 18 or older with a valid certificate may vote. For registration, contact McKinney County Tax Assessor-Collector at 235-5924.

Medical Terminology Course Listed by Grayson County College

Grayson County College adds a 16 week medical terminology course to evening offerings at Williams High School Plano. Classes meet Tuesdays 6 30 p m starting Sept 6 with late registrations through Sept 14. Tuition is 32 50 and instructors provide guidance for para medical careers. Gene Foster directs the program.

Trustees Amend Budget Meeting on Monday Night

School trustees will hold a special session after the School Board dinner with City Council and Chamber of Commerce. At Mendenhall Elementary School the board will discuss common concerns and a four item agenda including amended 1976-77 budget Change order for the Thomas and Harrington elementary contract bids for Wells Elementary School and designation of polling places and election judges for the Oct 1 bond election.

Texas Natural Death Act sparks mixed physician views
