Plano Plans 1.8 Million Bond Vote for City Hall Build

Absentee voting has begun for Plano's 1.8 million bond election set for Sept 10. The plan calls for a two story 30 000 square foot municipal building at 15th St and Ave L with space for future expansion and relocation of Planning Engineering and Code Enforcement. The bond would raise taxes about 2.4 cents per 100 valuation, roughly 50 cents monthly on a 30 000 home and $1.17 for a 70 000 property. Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept 10 at Wilson Middle School for westside voters and Bowman Middle School for eastside voters. Absentee voting runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Sept 6 in the city secretary's office.
