Plano plans a 1.8 million general obligation bond sale to fund a new city hall building expansion and service needs through 1990. An Oct. 10 election date is proposed along with public hearings on the 1977-78 budget and use of 470 thousand dollars in revenue sharing funds.
Registration for college credit classes in Plano begins Tuesday at Williams High School. CCD courses include accounting biology and history among others. GI Bill eligible. fees 32.50 per course, 40 for two. credits transferable. Plano Planning and Zoning Commission schedules a public hearing on a proposed city ordinance about private clubs. Citizens may attend Wednesday at 7 30 p m in the municipal building to offer input.
About 1,200 teachers and staff will gather at Plano Senior High School for a general staff meeting to start the 1977-78 school year. Superintendent Hendrick and School Board president Haggard will welcome attendees at 8:30 a.m. Grace Grimes will deliver the keynote.
The Wadley Blood Bank conducts the annual Plano Jaycee Blood Drive Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1027 15th St downtown. Goal is 50 pints to support the Cecil J. Prashaw Memorial Blood Bank of Plano. contact John Wigley at 424-8631 or John Wishnew at 422-7070 for details.
The Collin County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 a.m. Monday to review a renewal contract with Wichita Falls State Hospital for a mental health clinic and a new contract for alcoholism after care. Also on the agenda are redrawing election precincts to meet Texas Election Code size limits, minutes, and financial transactions. An executive session is planned to discuss personnel.
The newly established Information and Referral Service in Plano seeks at least 30 volunteers to staff three daily shifts five days a week. Volunteers will link callers to agencies, coordinate resources, and help plan services while handling confidential information. Training begins August 29 with sessions in Plano and Dallas, and volunteers can call 422-1850 for details.
