PISD budget hearing highlights tax cut and new school projects
Public comments on Plano Independent School District's 19.3 million dollar 1977 78 operating budget drew little audience response as the board approved a 1.39 per 100 valuation tax rate and a 76 63 2 cent split for operating and debt service. The session covered a natatorium lease with the city, Rice Field control transfer, low bids for Thomas and Harrington Elementary Schools, turfing the stadium and a new principal for Vines High School while attendance zone policy was postponed.

Expressway Origin and Destination Study Nears Completion
The State Dept. of Highways and Public Transportation reports the first phase of an Origin and Destination study for North Central Expressway. Began August 2 1977 the two week survey distributed over 78000 questionnaires from Downtown Dallas to McKinney. About 35 percent returned with a data summary planned upon completion.
