Kickback Case Dropped Against Rep. Jim Collins
The Justice Department ends its four year probe into Rep. Jim Collins saying there is not enough evidence to prove obstruction of justice in salary kickbacks tied to his office. AG Saxbe personally decided the case was weak after divisions within the department. Haag, Collins' former aide, was convicted in 1972 of taking 13000 dollars in kickbacks, mail fraud, and obstruction of justice.

Robert Excel White testified in a Dallas court that he casually killed a grocer Preston Broyles 72 and two teenage customers during a May robbery near McKinney Texas. Four Teens Held For Burglary At Gibson's Discount Center
Police arrested four teens early today for burglary at Gibson's Discount Center after a 10 p.m. break in Tuesday. Officers found guns and narcotics taken from the store and about $6,000 in stolen merchandise in the suspects' vehicle. They are held in Plano City Jail with adult charges expected for the 17-year-old.
