On day one of the Second Annual Plano Daily Star-Courier Junior Golf Tournament co medalists Brett Nelson and Allen Johnson each shot 74 at Plano Municipal. Johnson won the sudden death playoff for the Publisher's Plaque by one stroke. Joe Kralis posted 77 in the 15 16 year old division but did not place. Ten players in that division matched or bettered 77.

Small Blaze Extinguished By Firemen
Firefighters extinguished a small blaze in the rear of a city sanitation vehicle this morning. Fire Marshal Bill Threet said a 8:26 a.m. call came from 14th and Sherrye. The department also fought two grass fires on Tuesday and assisted on larger incidents in Frisco and near 2420 Laurel. An additional car fire occurred at L.B. Moore Texaco at 3:07 p.m. with two ambulance runs.

Plano Fire Dept asks residents to donate clothes and items for Camilo Gonzales of the Sanitation Dept family. Lavon home burned Sunday morning, leaving three Gonzales children in need. pants sizes 28 to 38 and shirts 14 to 16 requested. Donations accepted at any city fire station this week.
