Plano Banks Show 20 Percent Growth In Deposits

County financial institutions report total deposits of 232.701 million and loans of 131.405 million on March 31, with First National, Plano Bank & Trust and Plano Savings & Loan driving a 13 percent rise in loans and a 13 percent increase in deposits from the prior year.

City finance shows 20 percent rise in Plano deposits and loans

Plano financial institutions report a 20 percent surge in deposits to 118,292,430 and loans rising 61 to 112,815.14 for March 31, 1975, with total yearly deposits at 85,616,572.97 and loans at 45,098,283.61. Plano Savings & Loan overtakes McKinney lenders to claim county lead in deposits and loans.

Texas DPS reports 1975 crime rise in rural Texas

DPS Director Col. Wilson I Speir says Texas crime rose 14.7 percent in 1975 with rural areas near major cities showing a 29.4 percent jump. Murder and homicides up 2.8 percent, rapes 2.1 percent, burglaries 13 percent, thefts 20.2 percent, auto thefts 2.6 percent. murder solve rate edged from 82 to 84 percent.

PSHS Students Schedule Holiday

The Plano Independent School District will pause classes for a holiday on Friday April 9 and begin a week long Easter break from Monday April 12 Teachers will meet with parents on Friday to report progress during the fifth six weeks All district schools close for spring break April 12 16 with the Administration Building open Monday to Thursday and closed Friday April 16 for Good Friday Classes resume Monday April 19 and no holidays remain until the last week in May

Plano youth prepare for six week Bolivia work camp

Thirty Bolivian bound Plano youths and ten adult counselors prepare for a six week camp in the Chapare region of Bolivia in June and July. They seek about 4000 dollars more to complete the project funding including 5000 already sent for building two church multi purpose centers and community programs.

Two Juvenile Arrests Clear Four Burglaries

Police report two juveniles arrested Monday have cleared the burglaries at Bowman Middle School Meadows Elementary School Wylie Middle School and a private residence. Questioning continues. Another juvenile arrested for bicycle theft is being questioned. Eight thefts cleared and bicycles recovered along with three citizen band radios from earlier cases. One older arrest cleared more than 20 motor vehicle burglaries. Rest of Monday activity includes five motor vehicle and two residential burglaries one hubcap theft a bicycle theft and construction site thefts. Police answered 60 calls for assistance made four reports of mischief investigated a forgery and arrested three others including one for driving while intoxicated one for disregarding red lights and sirens and one on traffic Warrants Two accidents were reported.

Traffic safety report clears Parker and Country Place as non school zone

Tom Walton says the Parker Rd and Country Place Dr intersection with 41 mph median speed is not a school zone and the posted limit is 40. The site was wrongly listed among school zone crossings in a board report. A crossing guard was removed for construction and transport to school continues amid higher risk.
