Clement Bechtel of Carlton Avenue, youth member of the American Ambulance Corps in France, has been awarded the French Croix de Guerre for bravery. He formerly worked as a tire salesman and drove a touring car for officers near the front, reporting close brushes with German shells and aiding wounded personnel.
