Netherwood sanctuary plan gains momentum in city vote
Netherwood Residents Association pushes to create a bird sanctuary in the southeastern city with a $2000 fund and strong citizen backing. H M Canoune explains birds defend ecosystems and urges protection, noting historic declines of passenger pigeons and the need for a 2 to 5 thousand acre sanctuary between Rahway and Terrill roads.

Netherwood Bird Sanctuary Planned By Plainfield Residents
Plainfield residents propose a bird sanctuary along the wind road area aiming to coordinate feeding and protection, especially in winter and breeding season. The plan urges school, Parent-Teacher, Scout, and local bird groups to organize a simple instruction course and collaborate with notable landowners and the Residents' Association to lay out and post sanctuary work for public support.
