Barnard Opens New Sanitary Bakery in Town

More than 600 visitors from Plain Sela and nearby attended KH Barnard’s bakery inspection at East Front Street Tum day afternoon. The new two story concrete block building, tied to Woodbull Martin store, features a 5 000 loaf daily capacity, a loaf monitor, iron rounder, bread mincer, and conveyors. Barnard, formerly of Cranford and Binghamton, plans daily deliveries by auto to healthful retail customers. store remains in the Woodhull Martin building.

Active Golfing Season Opens With New Nine Hole Layout

The golf season begins as a new nine hole course awaits completion after the old course play resumes. The contest for the annual spring cup runs from now until November 1 with the fall cup starting October 6. The committee outlines Decoration Day events and plans two team matches on June 2 and September at Mainfield with potential further matches and seasonal play on the course.

May Locate New Prison Farm Near Bonnie Barn

A county jail site selection near Bonnie Barn and Mountainside is under discussion after a committee trip. Sheriff George Otto and Warden Auguste H. Fixgheon note two favored tracts, Bonnie Burn adjoining land and the Fred Taggart farm, as possible sites for a prison farm and sanatorium use.

Americanization Effort Opens Bureau for Foreigners

A city committee named the Americanization Committee has opened a bureau to promote English study and American civic duties for foreign residents. Activities run nightly through May 14 with follow up sessions in Washington School by May 2. The group, backed by local foreign and educational societies and city officials, aims to foster better assimilation.

William Pintliff Forms Partnership At Auto-Electric Shop

William Pintliff, a five year electrical expert at the Aine Aut Company garage on Breamore Street, enters into partnership with Cheries A Kane at 4 Tas West Street. The shop will handle magneto starting devices and all automobile electrical work including batteries and lighting. Pintliff, famed for inventions and nineteen years in the field, previously worked with Miller J Company and will move to the King building at 14-16 Street.
