Funeral services are scheduled tomorrow for Lieutenant Edmund J. LaPorte a North Plainfield native who died in France from peritonitis after an appendicitis operation. The mass will be led by Rev. Fathers Campbell and Hennesser with special choirs. he is remembered as a dancer and journalist who served as city editor in Beaver Falls and Plainfield before enlisting. He leaves parents two sisters Frances and Virginia and brother Vincent.

David Schroeder of 1848 Stevens Avenue Brooklyn, driver for Bhaltz bakery, was arrested here Wednesday on alleged thefts including a pocketbook from Mrs Bath A Fraeer of Vark Avenue and 100 pounds of sugar from Frank Cullen's store. He was held in 500 bail for a hearing before Judge DeMesa, but lack of witnesses delayed proceedings to tomorrow.
