The New Jersey Central will proceed with a seven million dollar bridge over Newark Bay between Elizabethport and Bayonne. The State Board of Commerce and Navigation approved plans pending War Department consent. The project includes a four track steel girder structure with two 200 foot draw spans and concrete columns, improving navigation and handling traffic and ice flow. J Spencer Smith was reelected president and Richard C Jenkinson vice president.

A group of fifteen colored men, fourteen from this district and one from Buffalo, left by train for Camp Dix after a final rally at the Babock draft board. They marched with a fife and drum corps through cheering crowds, following a 9 PM church gathering at Mt. Olive Baptist in Liberty Street. First Call For Limited Service Men
An order received by Secretary Freeman designates four men from the limited class for military police and patrol duty at Syracuse New York. They will entrain Monday July 29. The Exemption Board previously scheduled eighty nine men for physical exams at Evergreen Avenue School next Monday. Benjamin Harris of 726 Clinton Avenue, previously with Scout Masters Association, served in the 307th Field Artillery before transfer to brigade HQ for drill. Harris, brother of Albert Harris, is stationed at Camp Dix. Miss Mary Kennedy of West Fourth Street will leave tomorrow.

A man intruded the Edmundson residence at 840 West Fourth Street twice in two weeks and claimed their seven fold daughter Mary. Dudley Miller Burned Fighting Alcohol Flames
Dudley Miller, Park avenue druggist, was severely burned on the hands while fighting a fire at his pharmacy. A gallon alcohol bottle spilled onto a lighted gas stove, causing flames that spread as bottles stored nearby ruptured, and Miller tossed burning containers out back as the fire department arrived.
