Funeral for Daniel Heaume Held at Family Home
The funeral for Daniel T. Heaume of 1156 Lyric Avenue was held at the family residence with Rev. John W. Firnh in charge, burial at Efkside Cemetery. Born in Guernsey sixty years ago, he lived in Plainfield since 1905 and ran a grocery business in Dunellen for nine years with D. T. Heaume Son. Survived by widow, two daughters, and three sons including G. Harry Heaume of Rhodesia, Clarence Heaume of Malay, and others in various places.

Exemption Board completes list of sixty four for Camp Dix
The Plainfield Exemption Board finished selecting sixty four men for Camp Dix after revisions. They will assemble at the old post office in the Babcock building Monday at 2 PM to receive comfort kits and plan departure on a 9:34 AM special train from North Plainfield, Somerville, and nearby districts to Camp Dix with a second train via Pennsylvania Station. Final instructions will be given at 8 AM Monday from the board office, then march to North Avenue station behind St Mary’s and Drom Corns. The Plainfield Home Defence Learners will supervise families of the departing men. The list includes the fourty four men reported by noon.

Grand Commander Frank McHesamon and officers attended. music by the Virtar band entertained some 600 plus couples as DrtC Adame and Mrs Neen Adams among others joined the event.
