Pani Town Council Special Session Records
Town Council of Pani held a special session in City Hall on Monday September with Emmet Walker moving to approve the minutes and adopt an amended budget at 7 PM. Objections to the budget were not raised and it was accepted as presented. Plainfield Day draws huge crowds with tug of war and horse pull
Crowds packed Plainfield Day with a 6:30 pm horse pull lasting to 11 pm drawing 1,000 to 2,000 spectators. A four-man tug of war featured 800-pound teams including Cruse and Maine, with Cruse’s team winning the prize. The event also included a long parade with Bicentennial floats and a real Revolutionary War cannon built by Robert Wheaton.

Children of Jesus Club Present Iowa Flag to City Council
A Plainfield group calling itself the Jesus Club led by Scott Walker raised funds from residents and bought an Iowa flag constellation presented to the council on Tuesday night July 6. The flag will be flown at City Hall with the U S flag as a token of community effort. The council urged appreciation for the youths.

Happy Hour Club Potluck Plans Held at Marie Fritcher Home
The Happy Hour Club met in July at Marie Fritcher's home with Juanita Goings presiding. Thirteen members and one guest attended the outdoor gathering as Marie displayed antiques from her trunk. A potluck dinner is planned for Sunday August 1, hosted by Marie Fritcher with lunch served by Marie and Joan Marlett.
