John Edwin Mattern aged 49 dies at his Six Points area homestead after throat cancer complications following goitre treatment. He never married and is survived by his mother, a brother Will Mattern, and two sisters Leota Mattern and Laura Huffman. Funeral held Monday from his residence with interment at Maple Hill.
