Plainfield hosts a series of Sunday evening union meetings through August led by local church pastors and featuring the Indiana Boys School band and town orchestras. A large choir drawn from the town will perform under J Jones of Indiana College of K and Fine Arts with Miss Jessie Mer and Mrs Don Lass as soloists. All singers and townspeople are invited to join and contribute to a record breaking church attendance.

Oliver D Bryant aged 51 died at his home Wednesday evening from dropsy and heart trouble after a year of ill health. He belonged to the Poplar Grove Methodist church and to the I O O F and I O R M lodges. The funeral is set for Friday with Rev Hargrave and Rev Watson presiding. Burial at Maple Hill. Survived by widow Maude Bryant and five children Iva Ida Fay Charles and Fern, seven sisters and one brother, including sister Eva Thompson of this place.

Mr and Mrs George Bridgeford of Valley Mills were arrested on charges by No 1 Horse Thief Detectives Guilford township. Bridgeford pled guilty to corn theft but was dismissed as mentally deficient. An asylum inmate, he and his brother face questions of responsibility for his conduct. A separate farm disturbance led to a blood trail and loss of eight to ten bushels of corn plus chickens. Farmers near Avon report chickens vanishing and sly traps being set amid warnings of further robberies.
