Four deaths reported in a single notice with Jesse Oakley buried Sunday. Mrs. Jennie Broyles of Six Points and Mrs. Lovenja Richardson of East of Town listed as deceased.
Mrs Katherine Robins widow of Lewis Robbins dies at age 81 after six years of paralysis. She lived in Hendricks County her entire life. Surviving relatives include her brother Sime Woodward of near Hagerstown and five nieces and nephews. Funeral services by Mrs C O Watson at Friends church with burial to follow.
Mrs Emma G Ivichardson wife of Lovenja B Richardson died at their home on the National Road east of town Tuesday. The funeral was conducted by Rev S L Isick at the Rushton undertaking parlors this morning at 10 o clock, followed by burial at Maple Hill.
Jesse Oakley aged 11 years and 1 month died at his grandmother Mrs. Lucinda L. Worth’s home from lung trouble after influenza two years earlier. Funeral by Rev. Co. O. Watson at Friend church. Burial at Maple Hill. Son of Thomas and Ruth Oakley, who are deceased, he lived with his grandmother since age four and is survived by a brother and sister in Indianapolis.
Mrs Jennie Broyles aged 75 died at her Bridgeport home Monday morning from tuberculosis. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Friends church in Bridgeport. Surviving children are Frank Groyles Charles K Broyles and Mrs John Bradford all of the Six Points neighborhood.
Senior High notes celebrate the return to classes after Christmas. Friendly greetings filled the Hall of Learning as students appeared from holidays. Lively humor and cordial mood pervaded the atmosphere. A bright prosperous year is hoped for P. H. S.
W B Carter writes from Umatilla Florida describing travel through Chattanooga and nearby Civil War sites. He notes Umatilla population about 900 with 1500 visitors, a large camping ground at Eustis called Yent City, many lakes in Lake County, and busy tourism along the Cotton Tri Coast line. He mentions Christmas with Kentucky visitors, local churches, and fishing plans.
The general club will meet at the library Saturday afternoon January 8 with a guest speaker from out of town and a program provided by the Mothers Department. Home Economics will meet with Mrs. C. Reeder Friday afternoon January 14. full attendance urged.

McCarty Lodge 233 T C O F of Plainfield will attend the church Sunday night January 14. A male quartet from Quaker Oil Company performed last Sunday and will sing for the Sunday night service January 16. Revival starts Monday January 16 with special music each night. The Sunday School and church gave a liberal Armenian fund offering. Sunday School 9:30 A M. Prayer meeting Wednesday 7:00 P M. You are invited to attend all services.
The Washington township farmers institute was held at the Avon school building with a morning and afternoon program. Speakers included W. B. Remiley on hogeying down corn and Mrs. Whitabeth T. Stanley on beautifying the farmstead. Eighty five attended the afternoon session.
Everitt Newlin won the Republican caucus vote to become Chief Doorkeeper of the House without opposition. He had previously served as one of the assistants at an earlier session.
Copy prepared for the Messenger Printing Co. catalogs a sale of Spotted Poland Chinas by Wilbur Hadley and Fred Obenchain. The event occurs Monday January 17 at the Robey Garage, 2421 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, with about one hundred head offered.
The P. H. S Alumni basketball team won two games last week to stay undefeated. They beat Fairbanks-Morse of Indianapolis 23 to 17 on their local floor and dominated defense in a competitive match. A second win followed as the Union Traction Crescents fell 55 to 14 at the 2nd Baptist Church in Indianapolis. The走 schedule includes a Friday night clash with Valley Mills Independents, led by stars Smart Smith Merce and Mendenhall, in a double header with the high school boys vs North Satem.
The High School extended its winning streak by defeating Cumberland 39-26 on Thursday. The locals dominated early and gave most players a run, showing depth beyond a five man lineup. Friday's game against North Salem should boost their win percentage.
The Ten Dricks County Sunday School Association announces Eficiency Tour Week January 24 to 27 with meetings in Plainfield Clayton Danville Amo Coatsville North Salem Litton Pittsboro and Brownsburg. Hobart Hill will speak at all meetings and Sunday School teachers officers and pastors are urged to attend.
The Guilford Farmers Federation plans a January 13 meeting at 7 30 PM in the library. Farmers and families are invited. Reports from the National Federation will be given by BE D Carraway E T Davis Allen Maxwell Elmer Pickett and Edward Edgerton. Extemporaneous debates will cover inviting women to join and accepting if invited.
County commissioners awarded Otis Kirtly the Springton bridge project in Clay township after reviewing four other bids. Wirtley offered a bid of 7467 dollars.
Community spirit funds a 100 by 75 foot building housing a 70 by 45 foot basketball floor, adjacent to the new high school. Notables including Z. Oad Smith and T. C. Moeller led the project with local donors and school leaders backing the venture. Public support began in September, with Wirell Self contributing the first hundred dollars.
Fraternal groups in Tuscola and nearby held special meetings amid social dinners. The I O O F observed their Bob Black Garden Party with Rev Essick readings and an oyster supper for about fifty. K of P and Wapeekeewa Club hosted oyster or eats nights with talks, music, and meals for twenty to sixty members.
