The seven day Western Yearly Meeting of Friends ended with Sunday devotional services led by ministers from California, Virginia, and Collins. The Earlham College endowment totals 675 068, up by more than 19 000 from last year, with gifts including 50 060 memorial to Lindley Boyd and 10 000 from Robert P White of Lewisville. Death of 8 Year Old William Stewart
Eightyearold William Stewart died of typhoid fever Saturday night. He was the son of William Stewart, employed by Williams and Little Co. contractors. The family lived on the Davis farm west of town during the National Road construction. The body was sent to Nashville, Tenn for burial on Tuesday.

Mrs. Lawson Cox died at her home in Cartersburg on Sunday after a long cancer illness and complications. The funeral was held on Tuesday with burial at Christy cemetery.
