Private pond owners may possess only a seine for netting fish in their own pond and may not loan it or use any other net or device. Wardens will investigate violators under the statute. The state planted 104 143 baby fish, two to five inches long, in public waters during July from four hatcheries.
Mr and Mrs George W Jessup and Miss Edythe Young returned from a three weeks motor trip to Tennessee and Georgia visiting Knoxville Maryville and Chattanooga Lookout Mountain Chickamauga Park and other spots Their four mile Lookout Mountain drive featured asphalt roads and famous views and they reports few troubles on the 1300 mile journey.

The Chautauqua movement marks 51 years of service with a community event slated for August 31 to September 2. Mrs Anna Alida Griffin wife of Jacob M Griffin aged 46 died at 9 10 Sunday evening at the Amitydale home from heart trouble and dropsy after about four years illness. Funeral service conducted by Rev H L Huffman Tuesday from the home with Maple Hill burial. Survived by husband son John 22 daughter Vera 18 and several brothers and sisters including Marion Robinson Mitchellville IA Oscar Robinson Bridgeport and Mary Griffin Indianapolis.
Miss Portia Cooper's Rhythmic Expression pupils performed The Fairy Ring at the public library recital on Friday. Cement work on the National Road west of town finished this week and the eastward section to Six Points has been cemented. Traffic expected to be allowed in about thirty days. Curbing on Center Street south of the car line completed by Larkin’s men. the north end of Center Street is now being graded.
The Indiana Boys' School reports a bountiful garden season with over two thousand gallons of tomatoes canned and more than a hundred jars of preserves. About 1400 roasting ears and plentiful green beans fed meals, while irrigation via siphon watering kept crops alive during a dry spell under gardener J. B. Vial.
The concluding meeting of the summer series at Union Church will be held Sunday evening at the Yearly Meeting auditorium in the Friends Church. A musical program is planned with a large anticipated audience. The program is tentative with acts including Concert Orchestra Devotional Period Mrs Charles Calbert selections from Quaker Oil Quartet and Sextette.

Harry Hatton of Burnettsville reports a bumper crop of water melons and musk melons this summer. Samples were sent to Butch Dalton and Harry Inman, who both affirm Hatton's melons taste superior to others.
The Western Yearly Meeting of Friends convenes its 65th annual assembly August 21 to 27 with sessions on ministry and oversight devotional hours and multiple addresses. Participants include Mary Emily Ellis Gertrude Reinier Roy Haynes J Arthur Wollam S Edgar Nicholson and Dr Alexander Purdy.
The Methodist Episcopal and Friends churches list Sunday schedules with 9:30 Bible school and 10:30 worship. No midweek service next week. Union services at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Sacred concert and Yearly Meeting begin Monday afternoon. Pastors listed as J A Gardner Herbert I L Huffman S L Essick. The Plainfield churches invite all to attend.
Dr William Ayers and Dr Anna Ayers relocate from Indianapolis with their family to this town and occupy offices in the Reagan Building on Main Street. Mrs Ayers specializes in chiropractic baby care and the couple reside in the Derbyshire House.
Sherman Crayton of Amo is named superintendent of Amo schools for the year, succeeding G. C. Hillis. Crayton recently completed a term at Franklin College.
Miss Bessie Cumberworth and D H Hornaday were quietly married Tuesday evening at the new Methodist Episcopal parsonage with Rev J A Gardner officiating. Attending were the pastor's family and Mr Hornaday's son Ralph B Hornaday and wife.
About twenty five members of the Blue River Community Chorus of Greenfield spent Tuesday with Rev. and Mrs. Herbert L Huffman at this place who organized the choir about two years ago. The picnic luncheon outing and visit here were greatly enjoyed by the visitors. The Chorus consists of fifty singers who furnish music for religious meetings such as Sunday School Conventions.
