Western Yearly Meeting Assembly Set for Plainfield August
The sixty third annual Western Yearly Meeting assembly will convene in Plainfield from August 16 to 22 with Big Sunday on the final day. Shumaker of Indianapolis will lecture, sessions cover ministry and oversight, devotional meetings, and an open forum. Missionaries and local ministers will participate, with housing arranged through Ernest Iringlake, committee chair.

Paxton to Speak on Fellowcraft Masonry at Local Temple

Local Resident Catherine Prewitt Dies at 91
Mrs. Catherine M. Prewitt died after a long illness at age 91. Born in 1829 in Johnson County, she married Alexander Prewitt in 1845 and settled near Plainfield, raising nine children. Survived by four children, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Funeral held at home with Rev. W. L. Hargrave, burial at Iron’s Cemetery near Cartersburg.

Bicycle Crash injures Hildreth Glenn near Main Street Bridge

Will Tucker aged 77 died of general debility on Friday Aug 6 after years as an invalid. He was cared for by his sister Mrs James Shepherd. The funeral was conducted by Rev Hargrave Sunday afternoon and burial followed at Maple Hill.
