The Bride at Livadia and Czarir Royal Marriage Rumors
Reports from Livadia and St Petersburg discuss pressure for the czar to marry to solidify succession. Grand Duke Michael is named heir apparent by some, with options for dispensation or renouncement in favor of Grand Duke Michael or Michael’s brother. Prayers are ordered in churches and by the army and navy as speculation swirls about a potential imperial wedding. Meanwhile Miss Alix arrives at Livadia amid illness rumors and possible surgery. A Paris dispatch notes improved condition but Agury predicts a crisis within days.
