A head on collision yesterday at 9 40 between the Waebex of Connecticut and a Brattleboro freight south of Harrison's Landing New London caused a devastating wreck. The rear car carried four race horses bound for Groton races. four of the five handlers were killed. Train hands escaped serious injury though several workers jumped to safety as flames and debris spread. Firemen reported no further survivors from the horse car.
