An event at Trinity Heft Church marked an eight year old session with prayers, welcome by the President, and reports from officers. A successful program featured mime, banjo numbers, a variety of performances, decor and refreshments, with praise for the year's progress and plans for a future anniversary event.
In Cranford on Wednesday night Alice Rollinsoy is pursued after alleged theft of cash value 100 from her employer. Officers chased her, and a warrant was issued. Captain Grant and the police are on the case as investigators expect her to be located soon.
A Teang village gathering at Mine Ernestine’s on New Street turned festive as neighbors and friends from New and Mennebes joined the merriment. Guests played games, including a lemon wedding wager, with Miss Gussie Holmes claiming the largest count and Mabel Max Leon taking the booby prize. Refreshments circulated as the evening wore on, ending in joyous farewells and fond memories. Attendees included Mabel Potter, Emma Titts worth, Louise Clawson, Grace Miy, Danham of New Market, and several Tomlinsons, Clawson, Randolph, and Hobert segments, among others.
Yesterday afternoon two muntormen on the Street Railway operated rival cars that clashed on Grant Avenue and Front Street. Cars No 2 and 3 failed to wait at the Fourth Street switch, leading to a head on with Car No 4 laid up for repairs. The St Marys Catholic Young Ladies organize a church fair at the Lyceum ball with decorated booths, china tea set, rocking chair, and bric a brac. Tables hosted by Miss Shenan and helpers offered dresses, dolls, candy, and ice cream while a fish pond and well feature drew laughs. Music by Prazee orchestra followed by a concert by the church choir led by Miss May Flanagan. The event continues with plans for an evening program and more entertainment.
