City committee prepared to report on a proposed ordinance to license and regulate lib posters and to suppress indecent advertising. Council considered a resolution condemning public entertainments deemed indecent and called for police action, while a separate report listed eight city court cases and dispositions.

Unity Lodge No 103 received a letter about aiding Harlingen with a new building after a recent fire. Father Murphy of St Mary’s Church is expected back from Pennsylvania by week’s end. The death of Mrs Catherine Craig widow of Adam Craig is noted with funeral at 114 Washington Street Saturday at 2 PM. J W Reintart of Netherwood, president of the Atchison Topeka Santa Fe Railroad, left for Europe for recreation, to return in three weeks. A delegation from Miantonome Tribe No 1181 RM collected signatures for a new tribe to be established at West Side. participants included G RN 0 Magno, I’ a. Richard Seaman, B S a Weatptal, R William Newcorn and First Brave Houseman.
Friends of Mr and Mrs John Shirley arranged a cheerful surprise at their home to celebrate a return from illness but the plan failed. Mrs Shirley died before the event as earlier hopes for a joyous reunion were dashed by the bereavement.
