A brown bear, displaced by unusual circumstances, wandered from Pennsylvania into Bergen County. After climbing a coal train to inspect a contraption, the train started and the bear rode several miles before leaping off. Locals fear bullets on bear sightings and have formed expeditions to protect crops, while the creature reportedly feasts on potatoes and chicken roosts.
