Injuries After Hose Cart Accident and Laundry Fire
A. J. Upstoe an insurance agent of 52 East Third Street was thrown from a hose cart at Front and Somerset last evening suffering a severe brain concussion and was moved to Shaw's drug store where Dr Fritts reports his condition critical. Separately a gasoline tank explosion at John Wahl's steam laundry between Fanwood and Westfield at 7 this morning destroyed the plant causing about one thousand dollars in loss. The building was uninsured though machinery had some fire damage.

Wreck of a Fast Express Kills Three at Pennington
The Blue Line Express struck the caboose of a gravel train at Pennington injuring and killing many. Engineer Frank Rodrigues, famed for the Philadelphia to New York run, died after staying at his post. The engine, No. 206, overturned down a 30 foot embankment as seven passengers were seriously hurt and several others fatally injured. A separate Jersey City station fire is noted.
