Mitchka Given Stiff Sentence In Murder Case
Gulsepp Mitchka a Tallant from the city was convicted of second degree murder in the killing of Anthony McCue a railroad man on South Main Street. Judge Halsey sentenced him to nineteen years and six months, near the maximum, while Mitchka’s attorneys prepared to appeal to the Superior Court and seek a new trial. The case against Mitchka for the separate killing of James Kearney is set for trial next week but may be postponed pending higher court action.
