Snowstorm Transforms Town Into Fairy Land
Last evening a heavy snowstorm began around 4:20 PM and lasted about four hours. Four inches fell, coating trees and fences in white, turning the world into a winter scene as residents recalled the season’s earlier warmth.
Driver Boy Killed in Rock Fall at Mine
Richard Owens aged 18, an oilier boy in the Pettebone mine at Dorranceton, was instantly killed by a rock fall on Saturday. The dead boy’s body was brought to Pittston and buried in Pittston cemetery. Lyn O Owens, of this city, is named as his parent.
