West Pittston Baptisms Amid Floodwaters and Trenton Jobs
Baptismal services were held in West Pittston as floodwaters rose after a storm along the Susquehanna. Seven persons were carried away by the stream near the McCauley estate while a small pipe stood at the bank. Two men from West Pittston, Louis Bevan and Herbert Bray, left for Trenton to accept new positions at Avon Machine Co and Turbine Factory. Bevan’s funeral yesterday for Lieut. William Gee, a long-time pattern maker, was held at his home with burial in West Pittston Cemetery. Veterans and Battery M remnants attended, bearing a casket draped with the Battery’s battle flag.

Evening Storm Kills Two Pigs and Injures Others on VanWhy Farm
A severe storm struck Exeter ownership near Wyoming borough, causing lightning to strike James VanWhy's farm and kill two pigs while paralyzing two more. The animals weighed about 100 pounds each and were of a fine breed. The report references further tributes and a memorial for Lieutenant William Gee, highlighting wartime service and comradeship. Water damage from the storm affected Summerville properties and local streets, with extensive flooding and damaged drainage near the river flats.
