Warren Woolstey aged 3 of Poplar died after fainting from a finger cut while preparing to ride with his sisters. He fell backward hitting a stone, fracturing his skull, as his mother hastened to bind the bleeding.
In Chattanooga M J O'Brien supreme treasurer of the Catholic Knights of America places deed of trust on all real and personal property to protect creditors. Liabilities not known may not exceed 50000, with railroad losses blamed for financial embarrassment. Bond of 50000 covers the order.
Attorney Kingolsky files in District Court to stop Metropolitan National Bank from paying $15,000 to J W Anderson William A Dixon and James Reuter colored Belleville kansas residents who bought three worship lottery tickets August 26. Dixon's ticket No 571 won 15000 and the others claim 1000 was cashed and deposited. suit seeks recovery of 9500.

The Chilean government seeks to restrain owners and officers of the British steamer Moselle from relinquishing control of $1,000,000 in silver now in Montevideo. His term ended with resignation in 1887 amid a scandal involving his son in law.
