The Shenandoah, Bath's four masted vessel at 3258 tons, sails for Liverpool with 5000 tons of wheat the largest cargo by sailing ship. Strathearn, a British ron ship, is her main rival in a record setting test along the transatlantic passage.
Jackson Fletcher, a full-blood Choctaw prisoner, received a one week respite from execution. He will visit his wife and child near Bogey depot and remain there until the scheduled shooting next Friday. He would return to prison if released earlier, due to pursuit by the Paris Court.

Havana authorities report Palenzuela was killed by troops in the San Juan area after they encountered him and opened fire. The bandit died instantly as soldiers pursued him through the streets.
