Lively meeting over Alliquippa street sewer assessment

Property owners on the hillside above Fifth avenue leaped at the Viewers report as the Board of Viewers assessed the Alliquippa street sewer. They argued the sewer mostly serves Pillsburg Traction and wrongfully harms homes on Alliquippa street, with repairs after recent rains costing nearly £200 for some. The audience blamed an unused culvert and said it would have avoided the sewer if kept clear. The viewers set an overall watershed assessment not exceeding £3,000, to be paid by the local poor-working residents.
