Minnesota Alliance surge reshapes governor race and legislature
Minnesota voters face a three cornered contest as the Farmers Alliance grows, predicted to win 77,000 votes while old parties attract tens of thousands. Analysts say Merriam and Owen campaigns collide with strong Alliance support in farming, rail, and mining regions. County Alliance activism and factory town sentiment fuel the shift toward a possible Alliance majority in the Legislature.
