All Measures Passed With One Exception At Meeting

The Protestant Episcopal Convention in New York approved most changes to the Book of Common Prayer and readings for the Lord's Supper, while a debate over incorporating the Nicene Creed into the communion service lingered. Several diocesan petitions were filed for new dioceses in California, Colorado, Missouri, and a missionary move for Michigan. The 18 resolutions, including amendments to the offertory, passed with varying votes as the House of Bishops signaled support for the entire package pending concurrence. The session adjourned with the issue still unresolved, to be resumed next day.
