Launch of the United States cruiser Cincinnati in Brooklyn Navy Yard
Rain and wind greeted the Cincinnati launching at the Brooklyn Navy Yard as Miss Stella Mosby smashed a wine bottle on the bow. Secretary Tracy attended with plans noting the cruiser is 300 feet long, 42 feet beam, 1838 tons, top speed 19 knots, with 1100,000 dollars appropriated and a cellulose-filled cofferdam to seal shots.
