German Forces Engaged Zanzibari Rebels in Wide Battle
On May 9 at Zanzibar Captain Wissmann led 200 sailors and 700 black troops in a severe engagement against Chief Bushiri’s forces. Wissmann won and captured the camp after fierce fighting.
