Oil wells cost and field activity at McDonald field
The McDonald McCurdy pool shows high well costs due to deep sands and multiple casings with salt water risks raising initial outlays often above 2000 dollars and sometimes to 8000 or 9000 dollars. Despite steep expenses, operators push ahead with over 400 wells completed, while nearby fields like Sistersville promise cheaper drilling at around 5500 dollars per well as producers shift focus.
