Murder in the Turnip Field A rural tale of Peter Teare

In a village the body of John Teare is found in a ditch after a dispute with Dan Kinrade. The coroner and a jury convict Kinrade of willful murder. A dramatic later confession reveals Peter Teare as the killer, aided by a conspiracy with Bet's Bill. Kinrade is released and Hattie Caveen emigrates with her mother while Kinrade marries Hattie in New Zealand. The piece ends with a medical notice unrelated to the crime highlighting a separate health claim by Mr. James Moore.
