New Wage Scale Proposal For Homestead Mills Discussed

Trustee James H. Nutt presided at the Amalgamated Association Convention in the absence of President Weibe. The proposed rolling mill wage scale, largely unchanged from current terms but with extras revised, was delivered by printer and sent to manufacturers for review. A general strike assessment plan was approved for a popular AFL vote, with a 2 cent per member weekly levy proposed. The convention debated, then approved, the plan with only one dissenting vote, and organizers expect implementation after the AFL session in Boston.
