Governor Flower and Mrs. Flower arrived in Niagara from Buffalo and chatted on the hotel piazza about the GOP nominations. He praised Harrison as a strong candidate while predicting a Democratic victory over him, and he endorsed both Hill and Cleveland as worthy leaders of the party.

President Harrison today received a message from Andrew Carnegie in Sunningdale Scotland praising the American people for recognizing a good thing and offering heartiest congratulations for a triumph.
Warre Plains New York June 11 special Tonight White Plains citizens greeted Republican Vice Presidential candidate Whitelaw Reid with a band parade and cheers as he dined at Ophir Farm. Reid, speaking from his porch, thanked neighbors and gave a broad welcome, noting historic grounds and his Republican affiliation from afar.
Whitelaw Reid, at his country home, tells an evening paper Blaine hinted Reid could be the next Republican vice presidential nominee. Reid says he does not seek the post and is content with past honors. Blaine denies any desire to be a candidate and hints his resignation from the Cabinet is unrelated to Minneapolis nomination plans.
New York delegate Warner Miller asserts a campaign of issues over personalities. He notes no knives on election day in New York and backs Harrison, though previously Blaine held support after dispatches from upper county voters. Miller claims Harrison stronger now than in 1888 and predicts Reid boosts the ticket. He doubts Cleveland defeats any Democrat and dismisses faction splits.
Curcaco June 11 Hon John M Thurs ton of Nebraska arrived here from Minneapolis and spoke on the convention. He said he was satisfied under the circumstances but felt bad over Blaine's defeat. He added they would line up for the party nominee. Reid is a strong man and a good second choice. Nebraska will do her duty for the party and he believed the ticket could not be beaten.
Was HiseTor June 11 Special report states a reliable source says a petition is being prepared to circulate among labor unions nationwide demanding the National Republican Committee withdraw Whitelaw Reid’s nomination. The charge alleges Reid has long opposed organized labor and his continued presence would cost the Republican ticket many labor votes.
Ex Senator Hill of Denver argues President Harrison holds liberal silver views, likely winning Colorado by 10,000 to 15,000. He disputes Wolcott's claim that Harrison cannot carry the Western States, backing Harrison's strength in the silver issue.
Boston June 11 Ex-President Cleveland refused to comment on Mr Harrison's renomination saying he has nothing to say. He is confined to his room with a severe rheumatic attack and has left his grounds only once since returning to Gray Gables last week Thursday.

The defendants were discharged from custody.
Mr and Mrs James G Blaine arrive at their Bar Harbor summer home aboard a special train after a cautious journey from Boston via Bangor and Mount Desert ferry. Crowds greet them with restrained respect as they retreat to the Stanwood amid a calm scene and light breakfast aboard.
In Cleveland a mob mainly of women attacked the house of Rev. Father Kolascinski at St. Stanislaus parish after his removal. A confrontation with supporters of Rev. Father Rosinski led to injuries, police intervention, and continued fears of further trouble tomorrow.

Upper Canada society witnessed the marriage of Annie Morris Bush third daughter of the late Hon John T Bush Clifton Place to David Shields Bissell president of the Duquesne Forge Company Pittsburg. Ceremony at All Saints Church Niagara Falls South conducted by Rev Canon Bull followed by a Bush mansion reception. The couple departed for a continental trip through Europe after sailing today from New York.
Paris June 11 The government will request the Chamber of Deputies to retain the existing petroleum duties until December 31. The duties would otherwise be lowered from October 1 under current governing laws.
