David Schneider, long searcher for his wife and three children, finds them in Brooklyn at 392 Grand Street in a second-hand furniture business with Simeon Elias. He is arrested for disorderly conduct after a dramatic confrontation, fined ten dollars, and later releases reveal his wife and Elias moved on through Detroit Grand Rapids and New York as Schneider pursued them.
New York July 10 Mrs Helen R Saltus has obtained an absolute divorce from writer Edgar E Saltus with the decree dated June 18 The proceedings were secret and the only public step was a notice by publication started December 1889 Saltus was in Europe then and two co respondents were named Elsie W Smith and Fanny Girvan The decree grants Mrs Saltus the right to resume her maiden name Helen Read and to marry again Saltus may not remarry in New York during the life of his former wife The case taxes costs about 425 dollars Also note Fannie B Ward will describe Chilean rebel executions in The Dispatch tomorrow.
Emmons Blaine says Secretary Blaine is better than in seven or eight months and on the road to recovery. He denies rumors of poor health, injury, or special diets and notes Blaine eats well, walks, and drives daily.
A fierce afternoon wind storm struck Northfield and Fairbault causing widespread damage to fences buildings and utilities. The early noon event disrupted daily life as winds toppled structures and disrupted travel in the two cities and surrounding areas.
Indianapolis July 10 A New York dispatch says Scott Ray editor of the Shelbyville Democrat acted as an agent to learn where Governor Hill stood on the presidential question. Gray denies appointing Ray or planning a second place bid. He insists he is not a candidate for Vice President and urges Indiana Democrats to focus on winning the state.
Governor Campbell leads with 304 delegates and 47 counties to conventions, but Virgil Kline’s solid delegation from Cuyahoga shifts the race to a likely 1st ballot tally of 125 votes for Kline. Campbells supporters fear a factional split may threaten his renomination.
A Western Pennsylvania veterans committee arrived in Philadelphia to promote Captain Morrison for State Treasurer. Led by R D Layton, they carry introductions from soldiers west of the mountains and meet with Mayor Stuart, Captain Taylor, and local veterans at City Hall.

Philadelphia July 10 A finance committee session centered on ex City Treasurer John Bardsley and his bank dealings. Postmaster General Wanamaker testified denying Bardsley’s accusations and detailing his stock holdings tied to the Keystone Bank and Lucas estate. Witnesses McWade and McKean read statements from Bardsley’s alleged disclosures and the committee voted to publish parts of the material.
Special telegram from Fort Wildcats New Mexico July 10 reports Lt Brett of the Second Cavalry defused a threatened Moqui uprising near Orabei village on the Mogui reservation. Seven or more armed tribesmen blocked the path to arrest culprits in a high mesa fortress. Brett kept cool under fire and parleyed to prevent a massacre. Nine prisoners were captured and three troops plus a Hotchkiss battery supported the rescue. One captive escaped and leaped a 30 foot cliff to avoid firing. No further trouble is expected while a cavalry detachment remains on the reservation.
Paymaster's Clerk Van Vranken and clerk H W Coston were arrested for stealing composition metal and other government property valued around ten thousand dollars. A box marked Commandant of the Naval Store found at Port Royal revealed the theft, with a truckman Americus Smith aiding deliveries. Coston is Portsmouth resident, son of a U S Marine Corps captain.

Marden president of Marden Frog and Crossing Works diverted over 50 000 to himself as salary royalties and commissions The complainants own 2414 shares while Marden holds 2582 shares The court is asked to wind up the business and dissolve the corporation.
