The Last of Billy Patterson Dies in Accidental Fall

An inquest found William Patterson died from injuries after falling into a kettle of scalding water on Saturday. The nearly 60 year old Allegheny butcher was famed for sheep drives with a trusted sheep and a team of dogs that aided control of the flock. The verdict was accidental death.

Malone Defends Postoffice Building Progress

Mr Malone superintendent of the new Postoffice building replies to Col James Andrews claim of finishing by next October or paying half a million dollars. He says the work is under contract and being pushed to full capacity of the derricks, and declines further comment.

Megahan resigns as walking delegate at union meeting

The Operative Plasterers Union No. 31 met at 41 Fifth Avenue with routine business. J W Megahan resigned as walking delegate amid some doubt about acceptance. Coroner McDowell announced appointees for parade staff and that 20 000 people are expected to participate. Jennie Ryan of Sharpsburg was exonerated after infanticide charges. the coroner’s jury found the child was born alive but killed by unknown persons.

A telegraph dispatch claimed Western Union shifted to dynamos, but Pittsburg officials say their office has long operated without battery cells.
