James Dunlap, released after 14 years in Charlestown State Prison, owes release to the steadfast effort of Mrs. Marr Scott-Rowland and George Abbott James. She had sought pardon since 1882 when his accomplice Robert C. Scott died in prison and left a ring to Dunlap for his liberation.
