Beaver-Lawrence Republican judicial nomination selects Stone as third commissioner

After a brief prolonged session starting yesterday afternoon and ending after eleven last night, Beaver and Lawrence counties settle on Congressman William A. Stone to join the commission to name the district’s judicial candidate. Remaining members, ex Senator J W Lee and George H Andrews, proposed successors after Judge Stowe refused service. The new panel will meet in Pittsburgh Monday to nominate between William D. Wallace of Lawrence and John M. Greer of Butler. The district leans Republican by about seven hundred votes.

Blaze destroys stable housing valuable horses at corner two streets

Death on the Wire: Frederick Schmidt Electrocuted on Building Roof

Frederick F. Schmidt, 18, was killed yesterday when he touched a live electric wire on the roof of a Jos Home & Co building under Allegheny County Light Co. wires. M R Zahniser warned, Schmidt died after gasping on the roof with insulated underground conductors. John Riddle, an employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, was arrested at the Tenth Street Bridge yesterday afternoon on a complaint by Captain Clark of the Tide steamboat.
