Widow Bridget Kelly Perishes In Fire Near Steubenville
In Steubenville the widow Bridget Kelly, about 80, living between here and Alikanna, was burned to death last evening. Granddaughter Patsey Powert raised the alarm after seeing smoke from the window. Eugene Galvin and mill workers rushed inside to find Kelly on the floor near the fireplace. She survived an hour in agony as her clothing burned and the rag carpet smoldered. A strange note is that her married daughter Mrs Yocum was burned to death in the same house years ago.
