Hon. William M. Springer greeted by House in non partisan welcome
April 4 reports a rare, nonpartisan ovation for Illinois Republican William M. Springer, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, as he returns to the chamber after illness. Carnations adorn his desk and many members, including Democrats and Republicans, wear his color, signaling unity as debate resumes on the tariff free wool bill and its far reaching economic impact on wool, production, and employment.
