The Berkshire offers running water from Pinehurst Springs baths steam heat open fires and electric lights with comfortable public rooms. It will be managed during the coming season by Wt. F. B. Kimball proprietor of the Eagle Inn Orwell.
This tasteful building is designed for the comfort and convenience of the residents of Pinehurst, all of whom are privileged to make use of it.
In a November 1900 letter from Pinehurst North Carolina the writer praises the resort as a quiet restorative retreat. He notes good climate plain well cooked food and welcoming social atmosphere at the Lenox hotel. He appreciates lenient pace ample leisure time and the pool room manager's help, while criticizing only the overzealous boosterism of others.
