Pinehurst Resort Upgrades Highlight Summer Work
The Outlook outlines extensive summer improvements at Pinehurst including a centralized steam heating system by Broomell Schmidt Stacey Co of York. Major buildings heated centrally include Holly Inn Berkshire Pine Grove and Magnolia with new boilers conduits and heat pumps. The Carolina expansion adds around fifty rooms bringing total to three hundred and includes telephones in suites. New greenhouses supply hotel kitchens with fresh produce. The Harvard hotel new studio and a model photographic facility are noted along with enhanced trolley roads power plant depot and a deeper sewer system. The nine hole golf course expansion and updated cottages plus refined grounds decorate a season of notable upgrades aimed at keeping Pinehurst the premier winter resort in the South.
