The Tin Whistles annual Club Championship began Wednesday with an eighteen hole qualifier led by I. C. Bates Dana of Great Barrington with 83. J. D. Foot Apawamis and L. E. Wardwell Megunticook tied for second at 86, others between 87 and 97. Fownes and Mrs. Donald J. Ross tied 88 and won playoff 89 to 92. Various players from Pittsburg Boston New York Bennington and Davenport posted scores, with many finishing under 107.
The mixed doubles St Patrick's Day Cup finals saw R R Perkins and Miss Fenno defeat C H Schoff and Mrs BE Buckland. Semis had Perkins Fenno over Disbrow Merrill, Schoff Buckland over Johnson Dexter. many surprises noted. An eight thirty opening program features "In the Land of Cotton" with songs sketches and a Helen-Hunt two step.
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the village hall host the second annual minstrel show. The active committee pledges top entertainment including regular black-face acts and a topical song with local hits galore to eclipse past records.
