Pinehurst Jockey Club matinee yields tense racing and debuts
A sunny Pinehurst matinee featured a debutant overcoming Swinnerton's Are Amm Bee in a sultry pace duel for Farm Boy. Glass rode Farm Boy to a lead in heats one and two, while Are Amm Bee closed strong in heat three. Lady Betty's best bit saw Molly O. chase Call and Whymark through a tight stretch, Butter riding Lucille in strides, and Hatto by Wells. Little Pop and Kinder Lou battled neck and neck to a dead heat with Melos and Hardy close behind. Remarks on judges and spectators colored the scene as new riders like Preston on Mosquito and Weakly on Chief showed promise, with Whymark's Dave and Steeple Chase delivering notable finishes.
